www.reveng.co.uk - a new website dedicated
to Reverse Engineering is to be launched on 6th December
2002 by the Concurrent Design
Group (CDG).
The website includes information on reverse engineering
equipment, hardware, software, methods and best practice.
Equipment covered includes Optical Measuring, Laser
Scanning, Co-ordinate Measuring Machines, and Digitizing
Arms. Methods and techniques highlighted include point
cloud creation, data refinement, and outputting to a
choice of STL, IGES and native CAD geometry, inc. solid
models.
Says Graham Walker, Head of Reverse Engineering at
CDG, "Not only do we want the website to detail
our full range of Reverse Engineering services, we also
want engineers to use the site as their first and only
port of call when trying to find information on Reverse
Engineering."
Case studies documented on the site include the reverse
engineering of Action Man, an orthopeadic bath, an automotive
dash, a chair leg and a crash helmet.
